Founded in 2000 by Howard Chan, Hot Toys is a production house for designing, developing, and manufacturing highly detailed, high-end collectible merchandise to worldwide markets. The company has its head office in Hong Kong and a regional office in Japan.

Hot Toys initially focused on producing sixth scale military and police special forces action figures before transitioning to production of figures based on licensed media properties, primarily under their Movie Masterpiece Series brand. Along with film properties, Hot Toys offers products depicting characters from television, video game and comic book properties.
